Hey, my ceramic dc header is starting to speckle with rust or whatever. Is this normal and is there anything I can do (being it already looks like crap).
I know it's not hurting anything, but i'm trying to keep my engine bay looking nice.
anyone ever try that exhaust wrap they sell at Summit Racing?

If the "rust" is showing up right at the bend to go down on the header then that is not rust. what most likely is happening is that the ceramic is burning off. This is normal and there is really nothing you can do about it.

what's the difference between ceramic & stainless headers?? Does it make a difference in hp? Cuz I'm getting DC headers pretty soon, and I'd appreciate your help

the only difference is the look and the price. the stainless is well stainless steel. where the ceramic is uhh oh yeah Ceramic. the stainless i think look cooler (wish i would have got one)

The ceramic headers are supposed to retain the heat from the exhaust inside the header to keep the engine bay cooler. This is helpful if you have a short ram intake sitting there inside you engine bay sucking in hot air. I personally don't think it makes that much difference, although I have no personal experience with either. I would think that the head & block are already pretty hot, and the amount of heat "savings" with a ceramic header is minimal. I think you would be better off with a cold air intake that sucks in cooler air from outside the engine bay. My $0.02

If I were you I would hold off on the header. Its not going to make that big of a difference on your 1.5l. or even the intake for that matter.
Slam your ride with some nice coilovers or get a nice quality exhaust.

I'm wondering are those headrs that you've got in USA are those headrs the ones that gives you 8HP or are they just usual headers like original just better looking cause in here some guy is making headers and it cost about 700$ and it gives you more power and also the rest of the exaust for 700$ and then you'll probobly get 10 HP more is anyone fomiliar with that...
And one question today I was going to buy air filter from SPRINT a totaly new technology it's from poliester not coton and they are promising 6-8% more power on your car so we get there and cause I have my engine all rebuild and some new stuffs in I cant push it so hard so we install it in my friends civic HB 92' VTEC(160HP) and there was no difference in power just sound,so my question is, can you get more power with just AIR FILTER(INTAKE)???Cause I don't belive it I did belive but now I don't anymore I would appriciate if someone will ask that question, and have some expirience with that or have done dyno test with original filter and with the sports one as there any difference???
